Welcome to Happiness : E-Girls

Happiness is a Japanese pop girl group formed by LDH in 2008 and signed to Rhythm Zone. They are a dance and vocal unit of collective girl group E-girls alongside Dream and Flower. The group consists of two vocalists and five performers.

Happiness first appeared during Exile's 2008 Live Tour as backup dancers, at the time being a five-member unit consisting of Miyuu, Mimu, Karen, Sayaka, and Kaede. Yurino was then added to the group after an LDH Audition in 2009 before the group was set to debut as a group. They released their debut DVD single, "Happy Talk", on October 21, 2009. It was also used as the theme song for Japanese brand Mister Donuts.

2009-2014: Major label and E-girls formation

Mayu Sugieda was added to the group and announced on December 25 2009, before the group made their major debut on February 9, 2011 with the release of their first major label single, "Kiss Me". They went on to release several more singles throughout 2011. Mimu was absent from the group's promotions after going on hiatus in December 2011,  including their single "We Can Fly", before leaving the group in October 2012, citing she wanted to focus on her studies.

In November 2011, Happiness was confirmed to be joining sister groups Dream and Flower in the collective group E-girls. Member Mayu also went on a hiatus in August 2012 to undergo medical treatment after being diagnosed with infectious mononucleosis.

E-girls members Anna Suda and Ruri Kawamoto joined the group in May 2013 as a dancer and vocalist respectively, and the group released their fifth single, "Sunshine Dream: Ichido Kiri no Natsu".

Miyuu was announced as the new leader of the group, replacing Mimu on January 30, 2014. Mayu Sugieda, after months of hiatus, left both Happiness and E-girls on April 7, 2014. Happiness continued to promote with E-girls, releasing their sixth single, "Juicy Love", on May 28, 2014 and their seventh single, "Seek A Light", on November 19, 2014, between E-girls singles.

Profiles

Happiness is a Japanese pop vocal and dance unit under the agency LDH and the label rhythm zone. The group formed in 2009 and released their debut DVD-single, titled "Happy Talk", under an LDH own indies label. They are considered to be one of EXILE's sister groups and have been backup dancers for them. They made their major debut with the single "Kiss Me" in 2011. In December 2011, E-girls (EXILE Girls) was formed as a joint project featuring Dream, Happiness, and Flower. In 2013, Suda Anna and Kawamoto Ruri, from non debuted groups included on E-girls, joined the group. They also changed Universal Music Japan's sub-label from Universal Sigma to NAYUTAWAVE RECORDS. In 2014, the group moved from Universal Music to rhythm zone.

Sayaka Nagatomo

SAYAKA is a member of the Japanese pop vocal and dance unit Happiness and collective group E-girls. She attended the dance school EXPG in Miyazaki, appearing at EXILE's events, in music videos and on tour as a background dancer. In the spring of 2009, it was decided that she would become a member of the LDH unit Happiness among other EXPG students, and her official stage name became SAYAKA.

Kaede Dobashi

Kaede (楓) is a member of the Japanese pop vocal and dance unit Happiness and collective group E-girls. In her first year of middle school, she began to attend the dance school EXPG in Tokyo. Afterwards, she appeared at EXILE's events, music videos and on tour as a background dancer. In the spring of 2009, it was decided that she would become a member of the LDH unit Happiness among other EXPG students, and her official stage name became KAEDE. In 2013, she changed her stage name to her name in Kanji.

Karen Fujii

Fujii Karen (藤井夏恋) is a vocalist of the Japanese pop vocal and dance unit Happiness and collective group E-girls. She also models for the magazine "nicola".

She got scouted in her homeplace, Osaka, and entered the entertainment industry. While belonging to the office in which she got scouted, she participated in EXILE's dance competition and started to attend the famous academy EXPG, studying both dancing and singing.

Miyuu Ariiso

MIYUU is a member of the Japanese pop vocal and dance unit Happiness and collective group E-girls. She attended the dance school EXPG in Tokyo, often appearing at EXILE's events, music videos and on tour as a background dancer. In the spring of 2009, it was decided that she would become a member of the LDH unit Happiness among other EXPG students, and her official stage name became MIYUU. In January 2014, she was announced as leader of Happiness.

Yurino Suzuki

YURINO is a member of the Japanese pop vocal and dance unit Happiness and collective group E-girls. She attended the dance school EXPG in Miyazaki. In the summer of 2009, she passed the first Happiness vocal audition recruitment and became a member of the group.

Anna Suda

Suda Anna (須田アンナ) is a performer in the Japanese pop vocal and dance unit Happiness and collective group E-girls. She debuted in EGD, a dance group of EXPG (EXILE' Dance Academy), which was included on E-Girls in 2012 with the release of their second single "One Two Three". In May 2013, she joined Happiness.

Ruri Kawamoto

Kawamoto Ruri (川本璃) is a vocalist of the Japanese pop vocal and dance unit Happiness and collective group E-girls. She joined E-girls in 2013 with their fourth single "THE NEVER ENDING STORY". In May of the same year, she joined Happiness as a vocalist.
